The Kingdom of Heaven is Within

Reverend (Dr.) Cynthia Ramirez Lindenmeyer

As the full moon rises, we are reminded of the eternal bond between Passover and Easter. Each springtime, humanity tries to emulate Nature's cycle of renewal by celebrating Jesus' spiritual power. However, our patristic-based theology can often make it hard for us to connect with this divine message on a deeper level. Awakening more deeply into non-dualism perspectives, those attempting such conscious growth might get stuck in old dogmatic societal beliefs.

Jesus preached radical ideas about the power of God's kingdom but was largely misunderstood by those living in an era filled with political confusion and turmoil. When Jesus entered Roman-occupied Jerusalem, the people believed he would exert physical power, not spiritual power. Sadly, not much has changed; we too often fail to find deep meaning in his transcendental words even though they remain as relevant today as ever.

In the 21st century, worshipping Christ as a distinct figure is commonplace. But what if there was more to it? When we read between the lines of both Gnostic and New Testament gospels alike, an often-overlooked message surfaces: that everyone has within them access to powerful spiritual tools for understanding their reality on Earth.

Jesus was a master of connecting the spiritual and physical realities, inviting us to recognize that there is something more. His words at The Last Supper become a reminder for all time - dare we not only remember him but also strive to access those deeper aspects of ourselves and see beyond the reality in which we live into the causal dimension? The Earthly plain is merely a vessel to transport us through life and, ultimately, our eternal death. Easter offers more than just an opportunity for rebirth; it symbolizes the death we must all go through to transcend our physical form - allowing for the spiritualization of consciousness with the passing away of egoic struggles. When this happens, peace awaits on the other side: Heaven!
