Spirituality and Psychedelics

Ever been curious about psychedelics, but your mind is now conditioned by the government’s successful War On Drugs? Take a moment to clear your mind from your judgments and opinions and experience a change in perspective. Journey back in time before Walgreens and CVS stores dotted busy street corners and hospital buildings dominated the skylines. How did our ancestors heal diseases and alleviate body aches?

At a fundamental level, our bodies are comprised of atoms, consisting of protons, neutrons, and electrons–the same as the numerous plants and animals that our Earth supports. For most of humanity’s existence, the pharmacy containing healing medicine existed in roots, fungi, plants, and trees.

While various physical ailments could be healed, some sacred plants even lifted the veil between the human and spirit realms. One of these sacred plants, psilocybin mushrooms, has been called “flesh of the gods” and is scientifically credited with creating a hyperconnectivity between human brain networks, enabling humans to evolve.

Around the time McCarthy began creating fear in politics by labeling people as Communists, the term “psychedelic” was coined to describe the hallucinogenic effects of psilocybin mushrooms. Often translated as mind-shifting, a more accurate Greek understanding of “psychedelic” is soul-revealing. Psilocybin mushrooms transport you to a spiritual dimension that mystically reveals an inner reality with the power to change one’s external reality.

Plant medicine offers an alternative to synthesized, modern-day offerings if you feel spiritually stuck or seek some form of physical healing. As the Sacred Activism Community strives to create space for sacred awakening, encountering the Divine, and escaping a dualistic world, I invite you to explore our new outreach ministry,  SolasRetreats.  Any questions you may have regarding psychedelics, we are here for you!
